Felipe Contepomi will captain Argentina against South Africa on Saturday in the absence of Juan Martin Fernandez Lobbe.
Live-wire Fernandez Lobbe was ruled out of the encounter due to a calf injury, with his place on the side of the scrum taken by Pablo Matera.
Marcos Ayerza is another to succumb to injury, with the prop sidelined by cartilage damage. Matias Diaz comes into the starting XV as a result.
Contepomi missed out on last year's Rugby Championship and as a result will be notching up his first appearance in the competition. Matera and Diaz will also be making their tournament debuts.
